Ingredients:
- 4 boiled potatoes
- 1 cup raw poha (flattened rice), soaked
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- Green coriander, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Red chili powder, dhania powder (coriander powder), garam masala, chat masala, bhuna jeera powder (roasted cumin powder) – adjust according to taste
- 2 slices of bread (if required to adjust consistency)

Instructions:
- Start by boiling the potatoes until they are cooked through. Once done, peel and mash them in a mixing bowl.
- Rinse the poha under running water until it becomes soft. Squeeze out any excess water and add the soaked poha to the mashed potatoes.
- Add grated ginger, chopped green coriander, and green chilies (if using) to the mixture.
- Season the mixture with salt, red chili powder, dhania powder, garam masala, chat masala, and bhuna jeera powder according to your taste preferences.
- If the mixture appears too wet, you can add bread slices (crumbled or mashed) to adjust the consistency. This helps bind the mixture together.
- Mix all the ingredients well until they are thoroughly combined.
- Shape the mixture into small Tikis or patties. You can flatten them with your palms to the desired thickness.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the tikkis into the oil.
- Fry the tikkis on medium heat until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside. Make sure to flip them occasionally for even cooking.
- Once done, remove the tikkis from the oil and place them on a kitchen paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve the potato and poha tikkis hot with chutney or ketchup as a delicious snack or appetizer.
Enjoy your homemade potato and poha tikkis!
